RB Leipzig make Timo Werner transfer joke after striker linked with Liverpool move

RB Leipzig have made a bizarre transfer joke involving rumoured Liverpool target Timo Werner.

A recent report from SportBild has claimed Jurgen Klopp is interested in acquiring the Bundesliga striker in the summer.

Following this report, indykaila News shared a post to Twitter which read: "The main news in Germany this morning Liverpool are very interested in signing RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner."

To which Leipzig's official account responded with a jokey reply which read: "We heared (sic), he is headed towards #Tottenham though..."

Werner, who has been linked with an Anfield switch in the past, is in scintillating for this season having scored 20 goals in 21 Bundesliga outings.

And according to SportBild, the German international reportedly has a release clause embedded in his contract which could make him available for around £51million.
