RB David Johnson could miss game vs. Falcons with back injury

Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson suffered a back injury in the team’s 26-23 Week 5 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He was able to finish the game but he was clearly hurt after the game.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Johnson could miss the team’s next game at home against the Atlanta Falcons.

“It tightened up on him pretty good,” he said in his Monday press conference.

He indicated “there’s always a chance” he could miss the game. “We just have wait and see how he recovers,”

The Cardinals will not practice until Wednesday, so he will be able to get treatment. The first injury report of the week is on Wednesday as well.

Kingsbury praised Johnson’s toughness. It will take a lot to keep him from playing, although the play of Chase Edmonds could lesson his load if he does play.

It is something for fans to watch as the week progresses.
