RB D.J. Foster lands on injured reserve for 2nd straight season

The Arizona Cardinals needed to make a roster move after acquiring running back Kenyan Drake via trade from the Miami Dolphins. That move involved injured running back D.J. Foster.

He was placed on injured reserve, as he had missed the last two games with a hamstring injury. This essentially ends his season.

It is the second straight season he lands on injured reserve with the Cardinals. Last season, he tore his ACL in the preseason and missed the entire year. He made the team out of camp and had played only special teams.

With David Johnson and Chase Edmonds also injured, his roster space was needed.

Technically, he could return and play in the regular season finale if he were designated for return. However, it is more likely that he heals and is released with an injury settlement.

In the meantime, it would appear that Zach Zenner will fill Foster’s role moving forward on special teams.
