Raymond Terrace court date for man after fatal Pindimar crash

A MAN will face charges including speeding and drink driving in a Port Stephens court next month over a fatal crash near Tea Gardens.

The 46-year-old Pindimar man was charged in Sydney on Monday in relation to the October crash, where a Subaru Forrester and Nissan Dualis collided just before 11.30am on October 4.

"Police have been told a woman stopped her Nissan Dualis on the shoulder of Pindimar Road, when it was struck by a Subaru Forrester," police said in a statement.

The woman, a 64-year-old from Bundabah, died at the scene.

The man was freed from the wreckage before he was flown to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

Crash Investigation Unit specialists combed the scene, leading to the man attending Manly police station this week.

He was charged with aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death - speed 45 over limit, driving under the influence, driving in a manner dangerous, negligent driving occasioning death and mid-range drink-driving.

The 46-year-old was granted conditional bail to face Raymond Terrace Local Court on January 24.
