Rayman Origins Enhanced Edition leaks early on Xbox with a surprising USD 1,999 price

Rayman is coming back. That's right, another one of my childhood favorite platformers is making a return, and thanks to an accidental Xbox Store listing, we have some fresh details about the game.

Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition isn't the only new Rayman project on the way, though. I also wanted to mention the reportedly leaked Rayman Legends Retold. Based on the leaks so far, however, it doesn't appear that we'll be seeing that title on Xbox. As always, it's best to wait for official confirmation, but at the time of writing, there doesn't seem to be any mention of an Xbox version.

Anyway, back to Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition...

The game leaked with an absurd placeholder price tag of $1,999, which I sincerely hope nobody actually paid. Thankfully, the listing was taken down almost as quickly as it appeared. It is also currently believed, according to a leaker, that the game itself will be priced at $20 when released.

For those unfamiliar with Rayman Origins, it first released back in 2011 as a 2D platformer and, from what I recall, was received quite well at the time; it also joined Xbox’s backward compatibility back in 2016. Now, thanks to the Xbox Store leak, we have a few details about the upcoming Enhanced Edition, and for fans, it's shaping up to be a solid upgrade.

The game will feature 4K visuals at 60 FPS, alongside "modern enhancements including QoL features." Exactly what those enhancements entail remains to be seen, but the game will also support up to four-player co-op.

I was always a big fan of games like Rayman growing up, spending countless hours playing platformers with my brother. I also have fond memories of Rayman DS, so shoutout to anyone else who remembers that gem.

With that in mind, a remaster of Rayman Origins is more than welcome, and I hope Ubisoft can bring the franchise back from the depths. But what do you think? Should Rayman make a comeback? Do you even trust Ubisoft to do the character justice, or do you think it's best to leave the series alone?
