RAYE sparks fresh Bond theme buzz

RAYE's fumbling in a red carpet interview has led to speculation she is the artist behind the next James Bond theme

RAYE has fuelled fresh speculation about the next James Bond theme after an iHeart Radio Awards interview went viral.

Presenter Smallzy's exchange with the singer at the iHeart Radio Awards has created a buzz after he captioned it on Instagram: "Did Raye just give away she’s doing the next ‘BOND’ theme song?”

On the red carpet at the Los Angeles bash last week, he asked RAYE: “The rumours start with maybe a Bond theme.”

Hesitating through her answer, the Where Is My Husband? hitmaker said: “I don’t know what to say, I’m nervous.

“No, there’s no rumour, now I’m going red and it looks like there is a rumour. No, there’s no rumour."

If she hasn't already recorded the 007 tune, RAYE is up for it.

She added: “Obviously if they ever want to approach me about that, my inbox is open.”

Earlier in March, William Hill revealed that Olivia Dean surged to the front of the race to record the 007 theme, following her standout showing at this year's BRIT Awards.

The Man I Need singer, who swept multiple categories and delivered one of the night’s most talked‑about performances, was the bookmaker’s even‑money favourite to soundtrack Bond's next outing.

Lee Phelps, spokesperson for William Hill, said Olivia’s momentum clearly resonated with Bond fans as well as bettors.

He explained: “Olivia Dean’s BRIT Awards clean sweep and live performance have clearly hit a high note with James Bond fans, and she’s now our even‑money favourite to deliver the next 007 theme."

Phelps added: “After a weekend where Dean was crowned the UK’s new queen of pop, it’s no surprise that she’s most fancied to open the credits in the next Bond film.”

RAYE followed shortly behind (7/2), with Lana Del Rey (4/1) and Dua Lipa (7/1) also considered strong possibilities. Harry Styles sat at 10/1, while Miley Cyrus and Oasis shared longer odds at 12/1. Rising stars Chappell Roan and Charli XCX were further out at 16/1.
