Ray Tindle, the newspaper publisher who likes to reward his staff, is to pay a "chairman's bonus" to his company's 700 staff ahead of Christmas.
At the top level, full-time employees will get £400 each. The minimum payable will be £150, and part-timers will benefit on pro-rata basis.
The exact amount in each case will be based on the profit made by the individual companies within the Tindle Newspapers group over the past six months.
The announcement of the bonus payments for staff at the group's 220-plus titles was made by Wendy Craig, vice chairman and executive director.
Sir Ray joins me, she said, "in thanking all managements and staff for their great efforts during the current year."
In October, Tindle Newspapers announced that it would give wage rises to all its staff for the second successive year. Full-timers with at least 12 months service got £500 increases, with pro-rata increases for part-timers.
