Ray Quinn supported by fans as he welcomes new family addition

Ray Quinn has announced he has become a father again, with his long-term partner Emily Ashleigh giving birth to a baby girl.

The former Brookside star announced he and Emily were expecting a baby back in March. Ray uploaded a video, which showed him and Emily in an empty theatre. Ray could be seen taking Emily's hand as they began to dance, before the camera dropped down to Emily's stomach, which Ray cradled in his hands, before it cut to a baby scan photo held by Emily.

The words "Coming Soon" appeared over the image before the film faded out. The moving clip had some fans in tears.

After becoming a child star in Brookside, Ray won over the nation when he competed on The X Factor in 2006. He finished second, with Leona Lewis coming first.

He later went on to take part in Dancing on Ice, winning the celebrity skating competition twice - in 2009 and in the All Stars show in 2014. Ray also went on to be cast in Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, playing the role of right-wing extremist Jonny Baxter.

Ray has a son, Harry, with his ex Emma Stephens, while Emily also has a son - Lucien - from a previous relationship.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the 34-year-old shared his happy news with a photo of his hand over Emily's. In her hand were two polaroid photos, one of their new baby sleeping and another of the happy couple cradling her.

The snap was captioned: "Summer Reign Quinn 04.09.2022. Indulging in every special moment with Our beautiful, precious little baby GIRL!"

Fans quickly took to the comments section to wish the family well. Lauren said: "Aw congratulations, she is gorgeous", while Stacie said: "Beautiful name, congratulations". Louis said: "The best news"
