Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has questioned whether Emiliano Martinez will stay at the club this summer after catching the eye in Bernd Leno's absence through injury.
The 27-year-old Argentine has excelled since Leno's season-ending injury against Brighton and will start for the Gunners in the FA Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley Stadium.
However, with Leno returning from his injury in the near future, it remains to be seen whether he will accept being the reserve option at the club.
While he may stay to fight for his place, Parlour has suggested that a number of other clubs could look to make a move in the transfer window.
"It's very difficult to be a number two because you must get very frustrated by not getting an opportunity but now he has got his chance," he told talkSPORT.
"I had no doubt that he would prove to be a very good goalkeeper because I've seen him in pre-season, I've seen the way he trains and the way he conducts himself during training.
"He's just had to be patient. He's 27-years-old now and the interesting thing for me now is whether he will want to stay being a number two because Leno will be fit very soon, probably for the start of next season.
"What happens with the selection? If he's a match-winner tomorrow and he has an unbelievable game, with Arsenal going on to win, it's going to be a big dilemma for Mikel Arteta going forward.
"It's a good headache to have, you want your number two to be ready to go. When Leno did get injured at Brighton, I had no doubt that he wouldn't let anyone down, which he hasn't done. He's probably been our best player.
"It's whether he wants to stay as number two, I think Leno would still probably be number one. But now, I'm sure there is lots of clubs hovering and thinking they wouldn't mind taking him to be their number one.
"A Premier League club would be straight in if they're struggling with their goalkeeper situation, asking if he wants to come in and play every week as their number one. That's the dilemma now at the moment."
