Ray Lewis: Derrick Henry should be Ravens’ main focus this offseason

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry played a huge part in ending the Baltimore Ravens’ 2019 season, and it’s something that the Ravens can’t forget about as they prepare for 2020, according to NFL Hall of Famer and former Raven, Ray Lewis.

Henry was a man among boys in the Titans’ improbable divisional round win over the Ravens, a team that was considered the heavy favorite after finishing with a 14-2 record.

Not only did Henry run for 195 yards, he also threw a pass to Corey Davis that resulted in a score. If that wasn’t bad enough, Henry turned safety Earl Thomas, who had a lot to say in the days before the game, into his lead blocker on one run.

On “The Lounge Podcast” Lewis said he would “dedicate this whole offseason” to Henry if he were still on the Ravens (via Clifton Brown of BaltimoreRavens.com).

“If I’m anybody that’s playing linebacker right now, I’m saying, ‘Listen here man, Derrick Henry got to deal with me,'” Lewis said. “That’s a personal thing for me. I don’t like the way it went down and I got to see him. I’m going to dedicate this whole offseason to the person that ended my dreams. That’s what we did with (Tom) Brady. Prepare ourselves enough to get me back to that one position and lock that door and throw away the key. You ain’t getting out of here this time. It’s the process of never getting comfortable with losing.”

The Ravens won’t have to wait until the playoffs to see Henry and the Titans again, as Tennessee will head to Baltimore during the regular season in Week 11.

It’s safe to say the Titans will be walking into an even more hostile environment than normal after the results of last year’s playoffs, and that game will be just the latest chapter in a historically heated rivalry that was reignited last season.
