Ray Foley has joked that he hopes Ben Foden "falls on the ice" on Dancing on Ice when it starts on the ITV this weekend.
The Six O'Clock Show host is often on air with Una Healy who was previously married to Ben and the pair share two kids.
Ahead of Sunday's premiere episode, a clip of Love Island's Liberty Poole was shown on screens as she tasted ice during rehearsals.
When rugby player Ben appeared on the screen, Ray joked that he hoped he saw the same fate during the show.
The host laughed: "Oh, Ben Foden’s in it? That’s Una’s ex, is it? Well, we’re hoping he falls on the ice."
Co-host Grainne Gallaghan couldn't contain her laughter and quickly moved on from the comment.
Una and Ben tied the knot in 2012, but the couple divorced seven years later.
The break-up was made all the worse when the rugby union star remarried almost a year to the day after their split, having known his new wife Jackie, 36, for just two weeks.
They welcomed little Farrah into the family in May 2020 – and Ben says they are all now on good terms.
“I always doff my hat to Una. She’s raised the kids for the last couple of years on her own, and they’re great kids, very loving and gentle, and intelligent too – and they definitely don’t get that from me.
“I’d like them to get into music and acting. They did an advert with Una for McDonald’s and were great in it.”
