Ray Clemence's son Stephen to set up prostate cancer fund in his honour

Ray Clemence's son Stephen will set up a fund for prostate cancer in memory of his late father.

Former Liverpool, Tottenham and England goalkeeper Clemence had been living with advanced prostate cancer since 2005 and died aged 72 earlier this month.

"He did a lot of work for them over the years as he did for a lot of charities," Stephen Clemence, who works as a coach under Steve Bruce at Newcastle, told talkSPORT.

"But obviously prostate cancer was close to his heart as he was diagnosed with the disease 15 years ago and that is something as a family we will continue to do.

"I will speak to them in the coming weeks and we'll get something organised in my dad's name, and I'm sure it will be a success and we can raise some more money for the charity."

Last weekend, Tottenham and Manchester City paid tribute to the late Clemence before kick-off of their Premier League game with a minute's applause while Spurs' players wore black armbands for their former goalkeeper, who won trophies at White Hart Lane and with Liverpool.
