VARANASI: The birth anniversary celebrations of Sant Ravidas in Varanasi on Wednesday turned into a political pilgrimage with a galaxy of leaders from Punjab and UP converging at the mystic-poet’s shrine at Seer Gowardhanpur to reinforce their Dalit outreach in election season.
After paying obeisance at the temple, politicians queued up to seek blessings of Sant Niranjandas, chairman of the Janam Sthal Charitable Trust, who arrived in Kashi on Monday by a special train with hundreds of disciples from Punjab.
