Ravenscraig announced as one of four new mass vaccination centres

Ravenscraig has been announced today as a mass vaccination centre.

This means the facility will be used to vaccinate those who have been invited, and is capable of vaccinating up to 20,000 people per week.

Scottish Health Secretary Jeane Freeman announced further vaccine plans today and has said that everyone over the age of 80 in Scotland should have their first dose by the first week in February.

She also told MSPs that all care home residents and staff will also have received their first jab by this deadline.

The Aberdeen Conference Centre, Queen Margaret's University, Edinburgh's International Conference Centre were the other venues announced as centres.
