Ravens WR Marquise Brown in, QB Lamar Jackson out vs. Eagles

The Baltimore Ravens are about to take the field against the Philadelphia Eagles for the third preseason game. But they’ll be doing so without their franchise quarterback, Lamar Jackson.

Jackson sitting in this game makes sense considering the extensive injuries to Baltimore’s offensive line. Given the team has practiced this week against the Eagles, Jackson effectively got his preseason snaps already. It wouldn’t be worth the risk of injury just to have him in the game where coaches can’t exactly control the situations in the same way as practice.

On the flip side, we’ll get our first in-game look at rookie wide receiver Marquise Brown. Brown had been recovering from a Lisfranc injury suffered before the NFL scouting combine. It required surgery and has left Brown on the sideline all preseason long. Though Brown has gotten some time on the practice field, it’ll be the first time seeing the Ravens’ first-round draft pick in pads and running routes in a game setting.

While the wins and losses don’t matter in preseason, it’ll be nice to get a closer look at Baltimore’s backup quarterbacks and their rookie wide receiver.
