The Baltimore Ravens navigated their way through a very trying season in 2021, finishing 8-9 and last in the AFC North after starting the year at 8-3 and holding the first place in the entire AFC conference. Part of the reason for the team’s downfall had to do with injuries, but there were plenty of other issues as well.
Baltimore wide receiver Marquise Brown was asked about if he felt balance with the team’s offense in 2021 and what the next step for the group is. Brown offered an honest assessment, saying that he didn’t feel like the unit played to their potential all year and looked at the amount of injuries they went through, but also talked about how they showed they can do a lot within their offense.
“As an offense, I don’t feel like we really played to our potential all season – running, passing. I feel like we got a lot left. Guys came in and helped us out tremendously. But losing Gus [Edwards] and J.K. [Dobbins], that was a big hit for us. I know going forward, it gives the offense a lot of courage and a lot of excitement knowing that we didn’t play our best ball and we found ways to win however we had to do it – if it was games where we had to run more, games we had to up-tempo, [there were] games we had to pass. So, I feel like we showed we could do a lot of stuff with this offense. Putting it all together, putting the pieces, adding people back, and getting more people is going to be exciting.”
