Ravens will dodge a major pass rusher against the Chargers in Week 12

Following their divisional win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football in Week 11, The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football in Week 12.

The Chargers, desperate for a win to remain in the playoff hunt with a 4-6 record, will be without one of their best players. According to Los Angeles Head Coach Brandon Staley, defensive end Joey Bosa is likely to be placed on injured reserve with a sprained foot suffered in a Week 11 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

The Ravens could be without starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley for the second week in a row as he continues to deal with a knee injury suffered in the team’s Week 10 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Patrick Mekari will start in Stanley’s place if he is unable to suit up for Sunday Night Football.

With Bosa absent, Baltimore will be able to focus more on providing help to whichever offensive tackle defensive end Khalil Mack is lined up across. Mack is currently fourth in the NFL in sacks with 11.

The left tackle position has been an area of inconsistency this season for the Ravens, whether it be due to injuries to Stanley or the uneven play between him and Mekari, so not having to deal with the combination of Bosa and Mack is a major benefit for Baltimore as they look to snag another conference win before their Week 13 bye.
