Ravens waive RB Le’Veon Bell, who tweets about departure from Baltimore

The Baltimore Ravens have released running back Le’Veon Bell in a surprising move on Tuesday. Le’Veon Bell sent out a tweet to his followers to say goodbye to Baltimore, just before ESPN reported he had been released. In his farewell tweet, Bell says that he appreciated general manager Eric DeCosta and coach John Harbaugh for giving him the opportunity.

With the release of Bell, it probably means that running back Latavius Murray is ready to come back from his ankle injury and they needed a roster spot. Murray was running the ball well before he got injured. The team has Devonta Freeman and Ty’son Williams, among others.

In his short stint with the Baltimore Ravens, Bell had 31 carries for a total of 83 yards with two touchdowns. It is possible that Bell could be signed back to the practice squad.
