In a game that was quickly getting out of hand defensively, the Baltimore Ravens come up with a much-needed turnover against the Cleveland Browns. Cornerback Maurice Canady made Browns QB Baker Mayfield pay after jumping on a quick-read pass near the Ravens 38-yard line.
It was a “stop-the-bleeding” type moment for Baltimore. The Ravens’ defense has looked confused and overwhelmed after a promising first series forcing the Browns to a three-and-out. Maybe the loss of veterans in the offseason, as well as the injuries to cornerbacks Jimmy Smith and Tavon Young have become too much to recover from. But there are signs of life with Canady’s interception.
The Ravens took no time to capitalize on the play with a Miles Boykin touchdown, hopefully restoring some confidence against the Browns, who are eying the division lead in this one.
