Ravens told to shut down facilities until at least Monday

According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh has informed his team they are not allowed to return to the facilities until Monday at the earliest.

In all likelihood, this was guidance handed down by the NFL and not initiated by Harbaugh himself.

This move puts the future of this game in serious jeopardy. The NFL has several options they could explore in handling the Ravens upcoming game with the Pittsburgh Steelers but this move really puts the idea of playing the game on Sunday at the bottom of the list.

If you think all of this feels like these moves only serve to benefit the offending team, you are kind of right. If this game is played on Sunday, Baltimore would be seriously shorthanded. Moving the game to the end of the year does give the Ravens a chance to correct their mistakes and put a healthy team on the field against the Steelers.

However, at the same time, the NFL doesn’t want to send the Steelers against the Ravens while Baltimore is in this mess and risk getting Steelers players sick as well. The whole situation is a nightmare for all involved.
