Though the opponents for the Baltimore Ravens’ preseason haven’t been announced yet, the Ravens seem to have a good idea of who they’d like to match up against.
Baltimore has used the mentality of iron sharpening iron in recent years when it comes to training camp and the preseason. They’ve worked with other teams to hold joint practices during training camp in order to better themselves. They’ll be doing the same thing once again this year as they look to pair up with the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars prior to their preseason games.
At the NFL owners meetings, Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters the current plan is to host the Jaguars and go to the Eagles.
Harbaugh even noted the team had made special requests in the timing of their preseason games. They’d like to play Jacksonville in the first week of preseason and Philadelphia in the third week.
Given Harbaugh’s ties to the Eagles as a former special teams coordinator, we’ve seen the Ravens work with Philadelphia previously in 2015. Baltimore held joint practices with the Los Angeles Rams at the Under Armour Performance Center prior to their preseason game last year as well.
