Restricted free agent wide receiver Michael Campanaro signed a new one-year deal with the Ravens that could be worth as much as $2 million, according to sources.
The deal replaces the $1.79 million original-round restricted free-agent tender and opens up about $600,000 in salary cap space for the Ravens.
Campanaro's new deal includes a $250,000 signing bonus, a $250,000 53-man roster bonus and other incentives.
Campanaro, who was a seventh-round pick by the Ravens in 2014, re-signed with the Ravens last November after the two sides reached an injury settlement earlier in the year.
He played the final three games with the team and became their primary punt returner, averaging 12.6 yards on his five returns. He didn't have a reception but he had one carry in each of the final three games and gained 72 total yards on those three rushes.
After the retirement of Steve Smith Sr. and Kamar Aiken's departure in free agency, Campanaro could become a key piece on the Ravens' 2017 receiving corps if he stays healthy.
