Ravens sign G Isaiah Williams

The Baltimore Ravens have used the remaining open spot on their 91-man roster to add depth along the offensive line. A day after releasing wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo, the Ravens signed former Alliance of American Football guard Isaiah Williams, according to the Ravens’ Twitter account.

Since going undrafted in 2016, Williams has spent time on the rosters of the Washington Redskins, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts and Oakland Raiders, as well as playing for the Atlanta Legends of the now-defunct AAF. Williams has yet to make a 53-man roster in the NFL, which means he’s likely camp depth rather than a player Baltimore is expecting to keep for this season.

While the Ravens labeled him as a guard, he has experience at tackle as well. That versatility could benefit both him and Baltimore because guard is currently one of the deeper positions on the roster, with at least four players competing for the starting left guard job. At tackle, there’s little depth behind starters Orlando Brown Jr. and Ronnie Stanley.

Williams isn’t very likely to make the 53-man roster but could find a spot on the practice squad with a solid training camp and preseason.
