Ravens sign 3rd-round pick Jaylon Ferguson to rookie contract

The Baltimore Ravens are continuing their offseason by putting more ink to paper. The Ravens signed Jaylon Ferguson to his rookie contract today, leaving just wide receivers Marquise Brown and Miles Boykin remaining as the unsigned players among Baltimore’s eight picks in the 2019 NFL draft.

Given the slotted salaries under the CBA, Ferguson is set to make $3.423 million on his four-year contract, according to Over The Cap.

Ferguson was considered the Ravens’ biggest steal of the 2019 NFL draft. Baltimore got him in the third round (No. 85 overall) in even though many analysts gave him a second-round grade.

Ferguson is figured to be in the competition for a starting spot at outside linebacker opposite Matthew Judon. He’ll compete with Shane Ray, Pernell McPhee, Tyus Bowser and Tim Williams for snaps this season. With an impressive resume at Louisianna Tech, including breaking former Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs’ NCAA sack record, Ferguson should see the field plenty as a rookie.
