With the No. 85 pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft, the Baltimore Ravens selected Louisiana Tech outside linebacker Jaylon Ferguson.
The Ravens came into this draft with pass rusher as one of their biggest needs. After the departure of linebackers Terrell Suggs and Za’Darius Smith in free agency, Baltimore was left with just three outside linebackers on the roster. And with Matthew Judon entering a contract year, the need for a potential starter was there.
Ferguson broke Suggs’ NCAA sacks record with 45 over four years with Louisiana Tech. He finished 2018 with 17.5 sacks and 65 total tackles, including 26 for a loss.
