Ravens S Tony Jefferson recruiting RB Le’Veon Bell ahead of free agency

Many of the Baltimore Ravens players have spent a good bit of time on social media connecting with former Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell. With free agency quickly approaching and the legal tampering period beginning, Ravens safety Tony Jefferson took another shot at promoting Baltimore to Bell.

With fellow safety and Ravens recruiter Eric Weddle cut last week, Jefferson appears to be one of the players taking up the role. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey has also been spending a lot of time on Twitter, reaching out to players — including some draft prospects — recruiting them to come to Baltimore.

With no definitive starter at running back and utilizing a run-heavy offensive scheme, the Ravens have often been the landing spot for Bell by analysts. But with Bell looking for around $15 million-per-season in free agency, Baltimore might not be as interested as Jefferson.

However, Bell would be a big signing for the Ravens. He’d go a long way towards helping Baltimore’s offense and quarterback Lamar Jackson. Not only is Bell one of the best rushers in the league, but he’s also been a serious threat through the air.

While Bell sat out all of the 2018 season to protest the franchise tag, 2017 was one of Bell’s best seasons to date. Bell gained 1,291 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns on 321 carries to go along with 655 yards and two touchdowns on 85 receptions. Those types of stats would pair well with Baltimore’s rushing attack.
