Dec. 25--Baltimore Ravens running back Justin Forsett, who took over this season after Ray Rice's suspension and eventual release, surprised his offensive linemen with big-screen televisions for Christmas.
"That's a great gesture by him," said center Jeremy Zuttah. "Nobody expected him to go out and buy these TVs. He's a great guy."
Forsett broke into the NFL in 2008 with Seattle and Indianapolis primarily as a kick returner and backup running back. He had started only seven games in his career, which included stints with Jacksonville and Houston, before joining the Ravens this season on a one-year contract.
The 5-foot-8, 190-pound rusher proceeded to have his first 1,000-yard season -- he has rushed for 1,147 yards and eight touchdowns so far -- and knew he had to reward his teammates.
"I've been in a lot of offenses, and I've always wanted to reach 1,000 yards," said Forsett. "I know how important the offensive line is, and I wanted to show them how much I appreciate them.
"I put them in the locker room last night," Forsett said of the 55-inch flat-screen televisions, "so when they came in they were able to see them."
An especially nice gesture since Forsett signed for the veteran minimum of $730,000.
