Defensive coordinators may have had some sleepless nights working out just how to combat Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens offense over the next few weeks. Robert Griffin may be about to experience a few nights with less than eight hours slumber himself, but for reasons not related to football.
Griffin’s wife Grete gave birth to the couples second child on Saturday night, welcoming Gameya Griffin into the world. The Ravens quarterback spent some time with his new daughter before catching a late flight from Baltimore to Miami, ahead of the Ravens season opener against the Dolphins.
Griffin appears to be completely over the thumb injury that sidelined him for much of the offseason and will back up Jackson against the Dolphins. But instead of a playsheet on his arm, he’ll be wearing his wife’s hospital bracelet.
Everyone at Ravens Wire sends their heartiest congratulations to Robert and Grete, and hope that the team can mark the arrival of Gameya with a victory in Week 1.
