Ravens QBs Lamar Jackson, RG3 working out with WRs Willie Snead, Chris Moore

If all the work the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive players are putting in means more production in the regular season, other teams are going to have something to fear. All offseason, we’ve seen Ravens players working hard to improve the passing attack from last season.

From quarterback Lamar Jackson working on his mechanics to wide receiver Willie Snead dropping a few pounds and planning workouts with safety Tony Jefferson and running back Mark Ingram, there’s been a lot of practice time outside of Baltimore’s Under Armour Performance Center. With training camp only a few weeks away, it looks like quite a few players got together once again to continue grinding while many others are enjoying a vacation.

Snead posted a photo on Instagram of fellow wide receiver Chris Moore working out with quarterbacks Jackson and Robert Griffin III.

The Ravens promoted Greg Roman to offensive coordinator this offseason, firing Marty Mornhinweg. Roman scrapped the playbook and designed a whole new scheme with Jackson’s unique skill set in mind.

With a totally new playbook and little time to install it, seeing the players get together in their own time is a huge positive. It should give Jackson and his receivers a chance to better grasp the new plays and further develop the chemistry they had last year. With such a young offensive roster, all the extra snaps should do each player wonders individually as well.

While all the focus has been on Jackson’s development, it’s a big season for Snead and Moore especially. Both wide receivers are entering contract seasons with the Ravens and need to produce to warrant being re-signed or getting big contracts elsewhere in free agency. Snead quickly became one of Jackson’s favorite weapons last season, topping Baltimore’s wide receiver corps with 62 receptions but struggled to find the end zone outside of his only score in Week 1. Moore flashed big-play ability but is looking to officially break out as a receiver in 2019 as opposed to primarily being used as a kick returner.

We’ll see if the extra work has any effect on the team’s ability once training camp officially opens on July 24.
