Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had his No. 8 retired at the University of Louisville on Saturday afternoon during the Cardinals’ home game against the Syracuse Orange. It marked yet another impressive milestone for Jackson, who now has his number cemented in school history forever at just 24 years old.
When Jackson was asked about what having his jersey retired means to him, he said it means a lot and called it “heartwarming”, talking about the fact that he’s still a young guy and receiving such a big honor.

Jackson threw for over 9,000 yards in three seasons as a Cardinal and rushed for over 4,000 more. He racked up 119 total touchdowns in college, establishing himself as one of the most dynamic players in all of the country. His number getting retired by his alma mater isn’t shocking whatsoever, even though Jackson is in the middle of just his fourth NFL season. Greatness should be appreciated at any point in time, and Jackson definitely deserved this day.
