Ravens promote DL Zach Sieler from practice squad to 53-man roster

After some lackluster performances and some more injuries, this week has been one of changes for the Baltimore Ravens. Earlier in the week, Baltimore cut outside linebacker Tim Williams. They signed linebackers L.J. Fort and Josh Bynes. Before Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Ravens also promoted defensive lineman Zach Sieler to the 53-man roster from the practice squad, according to the team’s Twitter account.

Baltimore entered this season with very few defensive linemen on the 53-man roster. With an injury to Brandon Williams last week and the defense giving up 333 rushing yards over the last two weeks, the Ravens apparently wanted to bolster their trenches a little ahead of another AFC North battle.

This isn’t the first time Sieler will be on the field for Baltimore. He played 17 defensive snaps in two games last year for his rookie campaign, notching one tackle in the process. With Williams questionable for this game against the Steelers, it looks as though Sieler will get more playing time again this week.
