Ravens power rankings round-up for Week 7: Baltimore jumps back into the top 10

The Ravens returned to their winning ways, defeating the Titans 24-16 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England.

Lamar Jackson shined in his international debut, going 21 of 30 passing for 223 yards, and he led the team with 62 yards on the ground.

Justin Tucker was outstanding on the day, going 6-for-6 on field goals with the longest, just 41 yards.

With preparation for the Lions set to begin, we’re looking at the Power Rankings roundup that saw Baltimore jump back into the top 10.

Week 6 ranking: 11

Lesson learned: Roquan Smith is the defensive X factor.

After trading for Smith at midseason last year, the Ravens went from allowing 22.9 points per game to 14.7. This year, Smith’s tackling and leadership have kept Baltimore among the stingiest defenses in the league despite four starters missing at least one game due to injury (CB Marlon Humphrey, S Marcus Williams and OLBs Odafe Oweh and David Ojabo). The Ravens have limited offenses to 15.2 points per game, which is one of the biggest reasons Baltimore is 4-2 and atop the AFC North. Smith has proved he deserves to be the league’s highest-paid middle linebacker. — Jamison Hensley

7. Baltimore Ravens 4-2 (10)

The Ravens got back on track in London by Lamar Jackson getting loose and also getting more help from his receivers. The defense also made a statement to make up for some previous issues. The Lions will present a tough test at home in Week 7.

Sunday: Beat Tennessee Titans 24-16

Who’d you beat?: Texans, Bengals, Browns, Titans

The Ravens lead the AFC North despite having the third-most lost fumbles and eighth-most dropped passes in the NFL. Lamar Jackson’s 69.9 percent completion rate ranks fourth in the league and is on pace to be the best of his career. His passer rating (93) is on pace to be the third best of his career.

Week 6 Result: Won vs. Tennessee 24-16 (London)

Football fans in London no doubt arrived at Sunday’s matchup between the Ravens and Titans hoping to watch one of the league’s most dynamic players do his thing.

Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson did enough for the Ravens to get a win to move to 4-2 on the season. But fans were actually treated to a whole lot of Justin Tucker.

9. Ravens (4-2, No. 13): If they can avoid beating themselves, they can beat anybody.

Pro Football Network has the Ravens at No. 8.

Realistically, the Baltimore Ravens should have absolutely demolished the Tennessee Titans in London. However, Baltimore could only manage one touchdown in six red-zone trips. The offense looked very good until they got into the red area, where the offensive game plan felt stale.

Lamar Jackson and the passing attack still look outstanding, especially when Jackson is kept clean. While the rushing attack struggled against Tennessee, Jackson’s legs were the key to moving the chains multiple times throughout the game.

AZ Central has the Ravens rising two spots.

11. Baltimore Ravens (13)
Beat Titans, 24-16, to improve to 4-2. We really want to rank the Ravens higher, but inconsistency plagues this team. It would move up with a win over the Lions in Week 7.

Baltimore rose five spots in the New York Post power rankings.

9. Ravens 4-2 (14)
Justin Tucker kicked six field goals to pick up an offense that shut down in the red zone and make the difference in a 24-16 victory against the Titans. How appropriate in soccer-loving London. Rookie first-round pick Zay Flowers caught his first career touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson, who also ran for a team-high 62 yards.

Baltimore stayed in the top 10 of USA Today’s Power Rankings.

10. Ravens (10): A team that’s only had two home games will play four of its next five in Baltimore. Fun fact: Lamar Jackson has joined Michael Vick as the only quarterbacks to rush for at least 50 yards in a game 50 times.

CBS Sports has Baltimore up two spots.

They found a way to hold on against the Titans in London, but they still haven’t clicked all the way yet. The offense is just off some. 2 4-2-0
