Ravens or Bengals? Experts weigh in on heated AFC North offseason debate

The Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens are the most popular picks in the AFC North going into the 2022 season.

Besides the two teams boasting loaded rosters and both Cleveland and Pittsburgh looking like down swinging teams for the moment, the fact the Bengals and Ravens had a heated rivalry last year plays a big role in this.

The folks at Good Morning Football decided to take up the much-debated topic recently, with Emmanuel Sanders and others taking the Bengals as current kings of the north.

Peter Schrager made a point to highlight the 41-17 and 41-21 final scores favoring the Bengals last season and said the following:

“These teams do not like each other and last year the Bengals absolutely owned the Ravens and until the Ravens can cut that from a 20-point game to a one-score game, I’m not really keeping them in the same conversation, this is the Bengals’ division right now.”

Much of the argument for the Ravens over the Bengals going into next year hinges on the talk about injuries and the belief quarterback Lamar Jackson will be back to 100 percent.

For the Bengals, it’s about the lopsided series and eventual Super Bowl trip despite a bad offensive line that was upgraded three times in free agency.

For now, most experts continue to side with the Bengals until they see otherwise.
