The Baltimore Ravens continue to lose members of their coaching staff early in this offseason. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano and Jamison Hensley, Ravens defensive line coach Joe Cullen is headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars to be their defensive coordinator.
Cullen had been with Baltimore for the last five seasons. He initially joined the coaching staff in 2016 and has helped develop players like Brandon Williams, Justin Madubuike, and Michael Pierce. With how impressive the Ravens were against the run this season, it’s not shocking Cullen is getting a big shot elsewhere.
At Harbaugh’s end-of-season press conference on Wednesday, he said he expected both offensive coordinator Greg Roman and defensive coordinator Don Martindale would be back for the 2021 season. However, Baltimore has taken some severe losses with position coaches being hired away left and right. Cullen will be the third defensive coach to leave this offseason to become a defensive coordinator elsewhere. Defensive backs coach Jesse Minter is expected to be hired by Vanderbilt while linebacker coach Mike Macdonald is now the defensive coordinator for Michigan.
With the potential for the Ravens to lose even more coaches, the Ravens have pretty massive holes to fill this offseason beyond just their roster.
