Ravens looking to add a running back ahead of the NFL trade deadline

Baltimore is one of the top teams in the AFC and should certainly look to be aggressive buyers trying to stack talent for the stretch run.

John Harbaugh’s team is stacked at critical positions but could look to make a move and add another dynamic skill player.

According to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the Ravens want to add a running back ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline.

Russini reports that Derrick Henry won’t be made available by the Titans, and with Baltimore looking to add more talent, we’ve highlighted five running backs that make sense.

A former key fixture with the Chiefs, Edwards-Helaire has just 32 carries over seven games to start the year and caught six passes.

So far this season, he’s played in only 17.8 percent of the Chiefs’ offensive snaps.

Playing in relief of an injured Jonathan Taylor, Moss is averaging 4.6 yards per carry with 523 yards and four scores, while also catching 15 passes for another 115 yards and one score.

The free agent to be has averaged 4.6 yards per carry for his career and has caught 54 or more passes in each of his last four seasons, with a high of 107.

He’d be the perfect complement to Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards.

Bears RB D’Onta Foreman

Foreman just ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns against the Raiders, and the 27 year old running back could be available with the Bears getting back both Roschon Johnson and Khalil Herbert soon.

5
Jets RB Dalvin Cook

Dalvin Cook was signed as an insurance policy for Breece Hall, who was returning from an ACL injury.

Hall looks completely healthy, while Cook carried the ball 13 times (for 33 yards) and logged three catches (for 26 yards) in Week 1, but has only logged 26 carries for 76 yards (2.9 yards per carry) and six catches for 20 yards over the next five games. The four-time Pro Bowler would fit well in any system, and Lamar Jackson could rejuvenate his career.

6
Eagles RB Rashaad Penny

A huge free agent signing at the time, Penny has three carries this season for the Philadelphia Eagles and has only played in one game.

Penny’s a homerun hitter when healthy.
