Ravens jump to No. 2 seed in AFC playoff race after Week 9 win

The Baltimore Ravens took down the previously undefeated New England Patriots but they have not yet dethroned them in the 2019 AFC playoff picture. However, the Ravens have jumped up one spot to the No. 2 seed after their win over the Patriots, according to the NFL’s website.

The rest of the AFC playoff picture also gets tossed around. With the Indianapolis Colts losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers, it caused a change in the AFC South. The Houston Texans jumped up to the No. 3 seed, pushing the Colts to the sixth and final seed.

Let’s take a closer look at the seeding in the AFC playoff picture.

2019 AFC playoff picture:

Seed Team Overall record Conference record
1 New England Patriots 8-1 6-1
2 Baltimore Ravens 6-2 4-2
3 Houston Texans 6-3 5-1
4 Kansas City Chiefs 6-3 4-2
5 Buffalo Bills 6-2 4-1
6 Indianapolis Colts 5-3 4-3

As of right now, the Ravens would have a first-round bye. They’d have to take on the highest remaining seed after the wild-card matchups.
