Ravens, Jaguars observe moment of silence at practice for El Paso, Dayton shooting victims

The Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars are sharing a practice field this week at the Under Armour Performance Center. Ahead of the first preseason game on Thursday, the Ravens and Jaguars are holding joint practices to help give the players a different set of people to hit and gauge themselves against.

During their first practice together today, the two teams held a moment of silence and prayer to honor the victims of mass shootings over the weekend in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas. The shootings killed a total of at least 31 people in a span of about 24 hours.

The first shooting took place on Saturday morning at a Wal-Mart in in El Paso. The second occurred Sunday at the nightclub district in Dayton. The pair of shootings bring the total to 251 mass shootings in 2019 alone.

The Ravens also invited Baltimore’s first responders to practice as part of a planned “first responders day.”

Baltimore will take on Jacksonville on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET at M&T Bank Stadium. It will be the first live game action for both teams as well as the first time we’ll see the Ravens’ newly improved offense.
