Ravens' J.K. Dobbins trash talks concussed Browns' safety Andrew Sendejo on Twitter

Baltimore Ravens rookie running back J.K. Dobbins claimed he was trash talking and not gloating when he posted an insensitive tweet about the concussion safety Andrew Sendejo suffered in the Browns’ 47-42 loss Monday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said Sendejo was in the concussion protocol, suffered on a hit on Dobbins’ two-point conversion run with 1:51 remaining.

Sendejo was obviously dazed and had to be helped by a teammate, who had his arm around Sendejo’s waist as they walked off the field together. Sendejo was immediately checked by a member of the medical/training staff.

An Ohio State product, Dobbins noticed the news on Twitter and retweeted it with the comment, “Boy better bring his big boy britches next time because I’m coming strong every run.”

Dobbins later deleted the tweet, and responded to social media criticism with another.

“It’s a competitive game … people talk trash on the field all the time I respect bro like chill haha I hope hes okay,” Dobbins tweeted.

A second-round pick in 2020, Dobbins carried 13 times for 53 yards and a 1-yard touchdown in the third quarter. He ranks third on the Ravens in rushing with 504 yards (5.3 per carry) and five rushing touchdowns, one behind quarterback Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards with six. Dobbins has also caught 17 passes for 103 yards.

Sendejo started at free safety and Stefanski said the coaching staff was talking through its options at the spot, considering Sheldrick Redwine and Tedric Thompson, claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs on Nov. 30.

Stefanski said it was possible Thompson could have a larger role in Sunday night’s game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.
