John Harbaugh: Injuries to Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews not serious

The Baltimore Ravens pulled out a tough win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 5 but left Heinz Field with a bunch of questions. At the top of the list were injuries to key players on both sides of the ball.

After the team, safety Tony Jefferson was quickly ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury. Wide receiver Marquise Brown and tight end Mark Andrews suffered injuries as well, though both were able to return to the game.

On Monday, coach John Harbaugh opened up about their statuses, and there should be a collective sigh of relief. Harbaugh said Brown should be fine after he missed some time with an ankle injury. When asked about Andrews, Harbaugh pointed to the foot injury he’s been dealing with all season.

Based on Harbaugh’s responses, it sounds like neither player will miss much time, if any. That’s huge for an offense that has leaned on both players early this season.

Andrews and Brown lead the team in targets, receptions and yards after five games. Andrews has caught 28 passes for 311 yards and three touchdowns, while Brown has 21 receptions for 326 yards and three touchdowns.

Baltimore has largely escaped the first third of the season without many major injuries. With the bye coming in Week 8, the Ravens should be able to get healthy to make a big second-half push for the postseason.
