Ravens injuries: ILB Chris Board out with concussion vs. Packers

Update: Board has suffered a concussion and is out for the game

The last thing anyone wants to see in the preseason is an injury. The games don’t count and they’re simply a warmup to the regular season. But the Baltimore Ravens got bit when inside linebacker Chris Board got up wobbly following a run in the second quarter against the Green Bay Packers.

Board was taken to the locker room and it was announced he’s in the concussion protocol. It’s a big blow for the Ravens’ defense as he was in a starting role next to fellow linebacker Patrick Onwuasor and had been playing well.

With Board out, Kenny Young and Otaro Alaka should be the next guys up for the first-team defense. Since it’s a preseason game, we likely won’t see Board back on the field even if he’s cleared from the concussion protocol. There’s no reason to risk further issues to a starter at this point and it’s good for others to get more reps and experience on the field.
