Ravens injuries: CB Jimmy Smith out vs. Dolphins with knee injury

Update: Smith is now in street clothes after halftime, ending his day. Though it doesn’t necessarily give much insight into the severity of the injury since Baltimore is up 42-10 in the second half and could just be resting him.

The Baltimore Ravens are dominating the Miami Dolphins early in the very first game of the 2019 season. But they have some not so good news as cornerback Jimmy Smith went down on a play after being hit by linebacker Patrick Onwuasor.

Smith immediately grabbed at his knee and had to be helped off the field by the training staff. Smith went into the medical tent for only a few minutes and is now walking into the locker room gingerly. The broadcast said Smith was questionable to return with a knee injury.

The Ravens are already down slot cornerback Tavon Young. Though they came into this season with lots of depth at cornerback, if Smith misses any extended time, it could hurt.

Anthony Averett is in for Smith for the time being.
