The Baltimore Ravens are once again making the case for one of the leagues strongest, albeit revamped, cornerback tandem. Bookending Marcus Peters’ pick-six (and not to be outdone), team stalwart Marlon Humphrey collected a fumble from Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf, returning it 18 yards for a touchdown. In a feat outstanding awareness and vision, Humphrey stepped out of bounds initially in the scramble to the ball. But he re-established himself to collect the fumbled ball and head for the end zone.
Against the Seahawks, this was a game where the defense stood out above and beyond. Given their rather lackluster showings in previous weeks, not only shutting down Seattle’s impressive offense but grabbing a few takeaways and returning them for scores, the Ravens answered a number of questions that had plagued them.
Though Humphrey struggled at times in this game, he once again came through with a clutch big play. Big-time players come up with big-time plays when the game is on the line and Humphrey is quickly becoming a household name.
