Ravens HC John Harbaugh explains moving on from WR DeSean Jackson, TE Nick Boyle

The Baltimore Ravens made multiple roster moves before their 27-16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 18. While they called up multiple players from the practice squad, they also moved on from a few veterans in the process in wide receiver DeSean Jackson and tight end Nick Boyle.

On Monday, head coach John Harbaugh discussed the two moves, praising both Jackson and Boyle for their efforts. He made sure to make clear how much of an impact Boyle had in his time with the Ravens, while mentioning that he was grateful to be able to get to know Jackson.

“That’s a great question. Nick [Boyle] is a guy that’s been here for a long time, and we’ve been through a lot. Nick is playing good football; even this year, he’s played a lot of football this year. So, it was a roster move that we had to make. We have some options with that, in terms of bringing him back, or possibly the practice squad, things like that. So, I would still say that Nick’s still in our plans. DeSean [Jackson], I just can’t say enough about DeSean. I just really enjoyed being around him. He’s a good guy, a fun guy to be around, a competitive guy. I’m just kind of appreciative that we had a chance to get to know him a little bit because I never really knew him throughout the course … Our paths never really crossed, but we’ll just be moving forward from there on that.”
