The Baltimore Ravens lost to the Green Bay Packers 31-30 in a Week 15 matchup that was supposed to be a quarterback matchup of Lamar Jackson against Aaron Rodgers. However, due to Jackson’s ankle injury, Ravens’ backup quarterback Tyler Huntley made his second-career start, playing very well.
Late in the fourth quarter, Huntley ran for his second touchdown of the game, cutting Green Bay’s lead to 31-30. It was then that Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh decided to go for a two-point conversion to take the lead with just over 40 seconds left. This is the second time in three weeks that the Ravens went for two to win the game at the end of the fourth quarter. Harbaugh explained his decision, saying that he was trying to come out victorious right there.
“Yes, we were just trying to go get the win right there. In overtime … I think our chances of winning right there were a little bit higher than in overtime, maybe, if you calculate it out. I felt good about it. I thought we had a good play. Again, they made a really good play. I have to give that safety a lot of credit for getting out there and tipping that ball.”

It’s not hard to understand what Harbaugh was thinking, as if the Packers had gotten the ball first in overtime Rodgers could have led his team down the field for a score in a hurry considering how the Baltimore secondary played. The questionable part of the sequence was the play call, which has failed before in similar situations for the Ravens.
