Ravens HC John Harbaugh discusses importance of re-signing DB Daryl Worley

The Baltimore Ravens signed defensive back Daryl Worley as a free agent to their practice squad late in the 2021 season. Since then, he’s found a home with the team, playing multiple roles while maneuvering around the roster one way or another.

Baltimore recently re-signed Worley to a one-year deal for the 2024 season, cementing that the defensive back will be a part of the team for at least part of one more season. Head coach John Harbaugh was asked about Worley and said the veteran is a big part of the team and what they do.

“Daryl Worley; veteran player. [He’s] been here a long time. He’s been a big part of the Ravens here since he got here. [He’s] a physical presence in the back end, [he’s] a physical presence on special teams. [He’s] healthy now. He got the tear that he had in the [pectoral muscle] healed, and he was excited to get back. We’re excited to have him back.”

Worley has experience at cornerback and safety, but he has recently taken up more safety as his career continues. He is also willing to contribute to special teams when needed, which the Ravens value immensely.
