Ravens’ Gus Edwards, Marcus Peters suffer torn ACL injuries back-to-back during practice

The Baltimore Ravens’ injury nightmare ahead of the 2021 season has only gotten significantly worse on Thursday.

Per multiple reports, Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters tore his ACL during practice.

Moments later, practice was called off.

That decision was made after, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, running back Gus Edwards tore his ACL as well… on the very next rep during team drills:

Follow-up reports indicated that the injuries were feared to specifically be torn ACL injuries. Both will end Peters and Edwards’ seasons.

The injuries to Peters and Edwards come after the Ravens already lost starting running back JK Dobbins to a torn ACL earlier this offseason. Additionally, running back Justice Hill also had a season-ending Achilles injury this summer.

Remaining on the depth chart in the backfield for the Ravens are Ty’Son Williams and Trenton Cannon. Le’Veon Bell also recently signed to the Ravens practice squad.
