Ravens GM Eric DeCosta heaps praise on CB Marcus Peters

With the NFL Combine is starting a few days ago in Indianapolis, the Baltimore Ravens are still conducting business as usual.  They are trying to work towards a contract with quarterback Lamar Jackson, but also figuring out what to do about some of their other players who will become free agents once the 2023 offseason begins.

Cornerback Marcus Peters is one of the pending free agents that the Ravens could bring back in 2023. General manager Eric DeCosta was asked about Peters during his media time at the combine, and said that he holds the veteran in a very high regard and has had a few conversations with the agent of Peters.

“Marcus [Peters] is a free agent; he’s a guy that I hold in very, very high regard. I’ve had a few conversations with Marcus’ agent [Doug Hendrickson], who is a good friend, and Marcus is a great friend. He and I have communicated. That will be ongoing, but that’s a guy that when you talk about ‘true Ravens,’ guys who have done a lot for your team, for me, for the Ravens over the past four years – Marcus is on that list.”

The Ravens need all of the depth they can get in their secondary, and having Peters back would certainly help. The veteran brings swagger to the team, and another year removed from ACL surgery should make Peters game even better. He had his struggles in 2022, but being out on the field could be a benefit for Baltimore for at least the 2023 season.
