2019 NFL Draft: Ravens get a 3rd-round compensatory pick

The NFL announced the compensatory selections for each team, and the Baltimore Ravens came away with one of the highest ones. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens secured the final selection of the third round, No. 102 overall.

The Ravens were expected to get a third-round compensatory pick for center Ryan Jensen’s departure. Jensen signed the largest deal in the NFL among centers last offseason, a four-year, $42 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There was hope that the departures of either wide receiver Mike Wallace or tight end Benjamin Watson would net Baltimore an additional seventh-round selection but that is not the case.

The additional third-round pick helps the Ravens make up for their lack of a second-round pick after trading up for quarterback Lamar Jackson in the 2018 NFL draft. In addition to the compensatory pick, Baltimore will also gain a fourth-round selection for trading quarterback Joe Flacco to the Denver Broncos. The Ravens now have eight selections in the 2019 draft.
