Ravens fans react to Terrell Suggs leaving Baltimore for Cardinals

The Baltimore Ravens were hoping to re-sign linebacker Terrell Suggs this offseason. With fellow outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith expected to make big money in free agency and no consistent option on the roster behind them, it was something the Ravens almost had to do.

But on the first day of the NFL’s legal tampering period on Monday, Suggs informed the team he’d be signing elsewhere — eventually landing with the Arizona Cardinals. While we say our goodbyes to Suggs this offseason, we turn to Ravens fans to give us their take on Suggs playing in a different color uniform in 2019.

Most fans were noticeably upset to see Suggs head elsewhere and not finish his career in Baltimore.

He was the last of the Mohicans… the end of an era for Ravens football.
Even if we get Mosley back, i'd be shocked if we remain in the top 5 of defensive stats forget repeating as #1.
Feels like we just became an offensive minded team.

Others were not excited to see Suggs leave but were happy the Ravens got almost all of his playing years.

I honestly am grateful as a fan for all he has been and done for the @Ravens. I wish him luck but if he wanted to win he'd have stayed with the birds of baltimore instead of Arizona!

I think he could have been one of the best ever if he had put in the hard work during the offseason early in his career. Still one of the greatest Ravens and will probably make the HoF, not just the RoH. In his prime, he was a tone setter and a dominant edge.

Classic double edge sword
1 side, alot slower late in the season he did fall off
2 side, I am happy for him because he was such a Raven
When certain players leave Flacco Suggs ray Ed, C Mac and some others there is a void

Others were a little more pragmatic by noting Suggs wasn’t quite at the level he was earlier in his career.

From an on-field perspective I get it. From a fan perspective, it’s a major bummer.

Would have loved for him to be a Raven for life, but consistent production has disappeared in recent seasons. Production over intangibles has reared its head once again this off-season.

There’s no doubt Suggs will be missed. Just how much will remain to be seen in 2019, but it seems almost all Ravens fans are expecting the legend to make his way to the Ring of Honor at some point after his career is over, regardless of where he finishes it.
