Report: Ravens pick up LT Ronnie Stanley’s fifth-year option

As expected, the Baltimore Ravens have exercised their fifth-year team option on left tackle Ronnie Stanley, ESPN’s Field Yates reported today.

The Ravens had until May 3 to pick up their option on Stanley. Baltimore will owe Stanley $13 million in 2020; his four-year rookie deal ends after the 2019 season.

The sixth overall pick in the 2016 draft, Stanley has been a fantastic addition for the Ravens and a steady presence on the blind side. Stanley has started 42 starts in 42 games over three seasons.

Per Pro Football Focus, Stanley ranked 16th among all offensive tackles in overall grade last season. Stanley was particularly strong in pass protection, as his 86.8 pass protection grade was fourth-best at his position. According to Pro Football Focus, Stanley also had one of the lowest percentages of negatively graded run blocks among offensive tackles last season.
